  • Supervises the Training Specialist(s) and ensures training services are aligned with site needs
  • Establish and implement a training strategy and goals for the site requirements
  • Develop and continually update program training manuals and materials.
  • Track training effectiveness and create program development plans with program leadership
  • Ensure all personnel are effectively trained to successfully execute all program service requirements, both as new hires and on-going
  • Maintain training budget and ensure programmatic compliance
  • Meet all deadlines required by the Program Director and all stakeholders
  • Collaborates with training team and interdepartmentally, with subject matter experts, to develop effective case management, safety, crisis prevention, de-escalation training, and other program-related training materials.
  • Consistently provide and update training for an Influx Care Facility program.
  • Develop, maintain and distribute a staff training calendar that provides staff opportunities for ongoing development and training.
  • Maintain a staff training database that provides monthly and quarterly reports related to training and the impact of training on program practices and outcomes
  • Maintain program personnel training records and training certifications
  • Develop professional relationships with other peers in the field, including private agencies and supporting agencies
  • Must work a flexible schedule to accommodate various departments and work shifts.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the shelter population and program operations
  • Maintain Acuity professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the shelter population.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (Read, Write and Speak)
  • Bachelor's degree in education, Business Administration (Human Resources), or related field
  • 3 years training experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (Read, Write, Speak)
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required
  • Knowledge of lesson and curriculum planning, development, and implementation
  • Have classroom management skills
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment
  • Clean criminal background check
  • Clean Child Abuse and Neglect (CA/N) or child protective services check
  • Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations (Emergency Task Order)
  • Able to evacuate at short notice to accompany residents to a different city for several days at a time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 year of management experience
  • 5 years training experience
  • Previous ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) Shelter experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs
  • Ability to lift up to 15lbs
  • Visual acuity required to complete paperwork and computer work and direct line of sight supervision of staff
  • Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of staff activities.
