Job Summary
IntraHealth is seeking a Medical Product Regulatory Systems Workforce Specialist to work on a global, USAID-funded project, PQM+, led by USP. The PQM+ Program is a five-year cooperative agreement with the goal to sustainably strengthen medical product quality assurance systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) by working to improve medical product quality through cross-sectoral and systems strengthening approaches and the application of international quality assurance standards. The Specialist provides strategic technical inputs into the three main blocks of PQM+ technical areas - Regulatory Systems Strengthening (RSS), Product Supply and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Quality Control/Quality Management Systems (QC/QMS). S/he leads the implementation of Workforce Development related activities support through a holistic organizational and human resources systems approach to improve and sustain the performance of the medical product regulatory and quality assurance systems in low- and middle-income countries. S/he will coordinate with RSS, GMP, and QC/QMS technical leads to address challenges for the development of competent and sustainable workforce. S/he will coordinate with relevant stakeholders in the provision of assistance to build the capacity and capabilities of national systems. Along with relevant global and national-level stakeholders, s/he will support the identification and development of effective strategies for building human resource capacity, while considering the organizational, policy, systems, and other context for the capacity development aligned with the workforce requirements outlined in the WHO Global Benchmarking Tool. In collaboration with the PQM+ technical leads, S/he will identify short-term technical assistance needs and find ways of meeting these, while monitoring and reporting on short-term technical assistance assignments.
