The Temporary Horticulture Research Assistant will assist the Small Farms Unit Manager and CEFS Unit staff at N.C. A&T State University NCDA -Cherry Research Farm located at 604 Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27530 . The Temporary Horticulture Research Assistant will conduct activities necessary to complete applied high tunnel and small field research projects and on-farm demonstrations funded by the Cooperative Extension.

Duties includes:
High tunnel field preparation, transplanting, weeding, trellising, irrigation and fertigation, harvesting, and data collection.

High tunnel management such as opening and closing high tunnels, weeding and mowing the premises of projects, and high tunnel repairs.

Must be able to work outside in hot and cold weather. Must be able to lift 40 pounds, and bend, stoop and climb a stepladder. Research activities and project management may require working at adverse weather conditions in summer and winter.
