Position Summary:
Sovah Danville is seeking a Prn Speech Pathologist to evaluate and treat patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
- Provides case management of speech therapy patients including scheduling of so that therapeutic goals are met and requirement documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
- Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
- Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
- Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
- Graduate from a school of speech pathology required.
- Masters degree required.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Requires flexibility in adapting to work demands and priorities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Current CCC from ASHA required (new grads have one year).
- License from the Virginia State Board of Medicine to practice Speech Therapy required.
- One year of experience as staff speech therapist preferred.
