Minimum Experience/Education
  • Master of Science in Nursing. Under special circumstances, consideration may be given to persons with a baccalaureate degree with preparation in teaching and learning principles in adult education as defined by the Board of Nursing (such as Clinical Teaching in Associate certification, and/or in the process of completing the certification).
  • Minimum of two (calendar) years' full-time employment or equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse verified with the Board of Nursing.
  • Work experience and/or teaching experience in the area of Nursing Research.
  • Current unrestricted RN license to practice in the state of North Carolina.

  • Provides student performance evaluative feedback, writing intensive focus and application.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
  • Minimum of 2 years
  • Preparation in teaching and learning principles pedagogy as defined by the Board of Nursing
  • Exhibit the ability to engage in interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and scholarly collaboration with the broader constituencies
  • Show commitment to liberal education, diversity, equity, social justice, and social determinants of health h in inclusive environments
  • Exemplify commitment to professional growth and development through engagement in professional organizations, conferences, workshops, and other professional growth activities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in use of Microsoft Office and Canvas platforms.

Required License or Certification
Current unrestricted RN license to practice in the state of North Carolina, CTA certification or in the process of completing the certification if you do not meet the Board of Nursing verified teaching requirements.

  1. Conduct the research principals of the course
  2. Correlate classroom content to the clinical setting
  3. Facilitate students' achievement of course objectives
  4. Facilitate mastery of skills and competencies
  5. Utilize multiple and varied teaching methods applicable to the clinical learning environment
  6. Serve as a nursing resource person for healthcare and local agencies
  7. Model professionalism in social and civic areas and demonstrate the ability to teach
  8. culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.
Professional Development
  1. Evidence of continued professional development and/or certification in a specialty area of practice and professional organization
  2. Utilize feedback from student/faculty evaluations for instructional improvement
  3. Serve as a role model for students in the professional, social and civic area
Research and Investigation
