| Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems for patients. -------------------------------------------------- Design orthopedic and prosthetic devices, based on physicians prescriptions and examination and measurement of patients. Design medical devices or appliances. -------------------------------------------------- Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems or products. -------------------------------------------------- Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form. -------------------------------------------------- Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them. -------------------------------------------------- Fit, test, evaluate devices on patients, and make adjustments for proper fit, function and comfort. | EDUCATION: |
| Required: A high school diploma, GED or college degree; Completion of a National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) approved pedorthic pre-certification education course. Preferred: A high school diploma, or College degree; Completion of NCOPE approved pedorthic certification course. |
| EXPERIENCE: |
| Required: Completion of 1,000 hours of pedorthic patient care experience obtained either before or after completion of pedorthic education program. |
