Position Summary
The Division of Physical Therapy invites applications for Division Director. Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor is necessary for consideration. This recruitment is Open Track (fixed term, tenure track, or tenured).

The successfull candidate will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to translate our visions for the future into achievements in research, teaching, and clinical service. Among the primary qualities we seek in this person is the ability to balance and prioritize diverse interests for a dynamic program in a rapidly evolving field. The successful candidate will be decisive, fair minded, insightful, committed to the advancement of the Division of Physical Therapy and the Department of Health Sciences in the School of Medicine, and dedicated to continued leadership in education, research and clinical service at state and national levels. In addition to these qualities, the ideal candidate will be a visible presence in physical therapy education and research; will have a history of successful administrative experience; will be active in fostering alumni relationships and development gift initiatives; and will be committed to a consultative, balanced, flexible, and responsive leadership style.

The Director of the Division of Physical Therapy will be responsible for all aspects of the Division's operation. The Director of the Division of Physical Therapy is expected to promote an environment of academic excellence and is responsible for the overall administrative operations within the Division, including: a) oversight and support for the Division's academic programs and initiatives (DPT, transitional DPT, PhD in Human Movement Science, four residency/fellowship programs); b) development and support for our 18 core physical therapy faculty members c) development, support and promotion of faculty and student research endeavors; d) development and management of the Division's clinical operations e) budgetary and professional oversight and coordination of all Division activities and resources. The Division Director must be able to facilitate a collegial environment that fosters ongoing collaboration among faculty with diverse research and clinical interests.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants should hold a PhD and be eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in North Carolina. In addition to administrative and teaching experience we are seeking a candidate who has demonstrated success as an independent investigator with extramural funding and/or who would contribute to the clinical service mission of the Division.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Candidates eligible for tenure are preferred.
