Chief Medical Officer

The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for providing medical supervision, direction, and leadership for all aspects of healthcare delivery. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) shall provide strategic oversight, guidance, and administration of medical services for on-site health units for various care scenarios, including emergency response, refugee, and humanitarian efforts.

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Chief Medical Officer:
  • Pay commensurate with experience.

Chief Medical Officer Responsibilities Include:

  • On-Site Medical Services Management
    • In accordance with Federal Guidelines and Contracted Services requirements, provide oversight and management of on-site medical services.
    • Provide medical oversight into all service delivery functions, ensuring compliance with federal and local laws and regulations.
    • Provide direct supervision of medical staff and care oversight
    • Provide direct medical guidance for medically fragile personnel
  • Strategic Planning and Oversight
    • Provide medical staffing, loading, and scheduling plans to meet medical support and care requirements.
    • Supports other Service Chiefs and Clinical Directors in overseeing the operations of Primary Care, specialty, and all ancillary services performed in the on-site clinic.
    • Provide and Develop medical support documents for humanitarian and refugee services.
    • Provide Medical SOPs (s) for care services.
    • Provide Medical Operational Procedures for care services.
  • Provide Medical Oversight, Direction, and Planning for Cadre Services
    • Covid 19 Testing.
    • Vaccinations.
    • Treatment of Communicable Disease.
    • Mental Health and Psychiatric Including Referrals.
    • Referrals to Local Hospitals.
    • Liaison with Local Health System.
    • Emergency Scenarios.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Chief Medical Officer Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities requested:

  • Graduate from an accredited medical school in which an MD or DO degree was earned.
  • Ten years of clinical experience as a Physician in either Emergency Medicine, International Medicine, or Family Practice, plus an additional 5 (five) years experience in a HealthCare Leadership position.
  • Hold and maintain a current unrestricted U.S. (State) Medical License.
  • (Preferred) Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice.
  • Experience in managing emergency response, refugee, and humanitarian medical services is a plus.
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high-paced environment without physical limitations.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
