Description

General Summary:

Reporting to the Section Chief, Aircraft Coordinator Group, the Flight Test Aircraft Coordinator is responsible for maintaining assigned aircraft in an airworthy condition, configured as required, to meet the requirements of the flight test schedule. Additionally, the Flight Test Aircraft Coordinator assists in developing and executing test schedules, as well as coordinating and executing off-site testing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Development and Certification Flight Activities on assigned aircraft.
  • Manage the configuration of assigned aircraft to meet test requirements.
  • Author Work Orders and spearhead the disposition and implementation of Quality Notices (QNs).
  • Ensure all necessary preparation activities are completed prior to flight, brief aircraft configuration and maintenance status during pre-flight briefings, and release aircraft to accomplish test missions.
  • Coordinate debrief of test missions, obtain maintenance status, and ensure squawks are resolved to meet the next planned test event.
  • Plan, execute, and comply with aircraft maintenance and inspection programs.
  • Coordinate, plan, and execute modifications (to include hardware, software, and instrumentation) in collaboration with the Instrumentation group, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Flight Test Technician team, and Quality to meet test schedules.
  • Review daily Engineering releases effective for assigned aircraft to determine and resolve any impacts to test schedules.
  • Maintain detailed schedule of each aircraft's planned ground operations, flight operations and maintenance/modification activity to align with project schedule.
  • Coordinate all personnel, material, equipment, facilities, financial and logistical resources for off-site flight test campaigns.
  • Act as the focal for assigned aircraft for Conformity in support of Certification testing.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute Offsite Readiness Reviews and track actions to closure.
  • Actively participate in Honda Aircraft Company's Safety Management System.
  • Adhere to FAA Regulations and Company Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

  • Minimum 5 Years Aviation experience.
  • Experience researching, writing, and editing technical documentation for Engineering, Aviation & Certification.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and aircraft certification related FAA regulations and guidance material.
  • Experience with aircraft modification planning and execution.
  • FAA Dispatch License, A&P License, and/or Pilot License desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, SAP, and TeamCenter.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering instructions and engineering drawings.

  • Detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, and willingness to travel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat-cold-dust, and/or Aircraft Equipment, Parts, or Fuel odors.
  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by Job Duties.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all Regulatory Requirements (FAA,OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal Regulations, Etc.).
