This is a position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPXEnterprisesHVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, Patterson-Kelley, LLC) and includes all Weil-McLainbranded products.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Director of Quality, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and quality control within the organization. This leadership role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry regulations and product specifications. The successful candidate will lead a team of quality professionals and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold our commitment to delivering superior products/services.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Quality Management System Implementation
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system to ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and product specifications.
  • Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and targets to monitor and measure performance across all aspects of multi-site operations.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate processes, procedures, and product/service quality, identifying opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation.
  • Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary to prevent recurrence.

  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to quality management, incorporating relevant updates into the organization's quality processes and procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports, analysis, and recommendations to senior management regarding quality performance, compliance status, and improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, supply chain, and customer service, to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous quality enhancement initiatives X
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained.
  • Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall success of the department or organization.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in a quality assurance/quality control leadership role, within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools, such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen and ISO standards

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent leadership with experience directly managing a team.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and inspire a culture of quality excellence.
  • Experience conducting audits, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt)
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process enhancements and improvements.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or related field; Master's degree preferred

Travel & Working Environment

  • Ability to travel overnight - up to 50%
  • Frequent work in plant/manufacturing environment requiring safety equipment (shoes, glasses)
