Manager, Editorial Content

Kontoor Brands is currently seeking an Editorial Content Manager for our Wrangler marketing team at our Greensboro, NC headquarters. This position reports to the Senior Marketing Director and is an integral player on the Wrangler brand creative team. This role requires an imaginative storyteller who has a true love of crafting merchandise stories. This person will partner closely with a variety of individuals on the ecommerce, design, merch, consumer insights, and marketing teams to create frameworks for annual, seasonal, and monthly digital marketing content.

With the support of the Integrated Marketing Coordinator, the Editorial Content Manager will turn merchant and marketing priorities into compelling and engaging brand-right stories. You have the mindset of a magazine editor balanced with a strong understanding of ecommerce business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with ecommerce merchandising, marketing, and design to ensure that the overall creative vision of the brand/product/lifestyle business unit is delivered on brand and in adherence to the financial plans for .com
  • The Manager, Editorial Content, will manage the development of monthly editorial email and site content.
  • Closely collaborate and brainstorm with brand, PR, agency, and design teams to bring inspiring brand-right stories to life.
  • Strategically implement scalable ways to tell stories through in-house photography/videography, merchandise curations and other creative solutions. Identify ways to improve the internal content development process.

  • Develop annual, seasonal, quarterly, and monthly content calendars that lay out the needs for the teams creating the content as well as those responsible for using the content to execute.
  • Have a finger on the pulse of current culture and the retail industry, especially denim. Be able to jump on fast-emerging trends and connect with existing merchandise priorities.
  • Expert-level knowledge of fashion editorial merchandising and marketing content trends and best practices that you will use to drive digital content plans
  • Manages Coordinator, Integrated Marketing and ensures Integrated Marketing productions execute key seasonal eCommerce stories

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in writing (preferably in marketing, retail, publishing or an agency environment), content management, creative strategy or similar professional experience. Must show an online portfolio of relevant work
  • Has a demonstrable track record of implementing content strategies
  • Ability to act as a proactive self-motivator who can problem solve with incomplete information
  • Has extensive experience with the advertising and marketing development process (brief writing, calendar development, providing creative feedback, and analysis); experience in working with creative and media agencies with a focus on digital media channels
  • Budget management experience, including budget allocations, tracking, and reconciliation to ensure project and overall budget is on target and identifies opportunities to maximize budget efficiencies to improve ROI
  • Navigating ambiguity with ease and meeting fast-paced deadlines
  • Expert-level knowledge of fashion editorial merchandising and marketing content trends and best practices
  • Strong and effective communication skills with the proven ability to present and sell your ideas.
  • Have a finger on the pulse of current culture and the retail industry, especially denim.
