Position Overview

Primary Purpose of the Position	The Department of Health, Physical Education & Sport Studies is seeking adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate level courses in the areas of Health and Physical Education and Sport Management.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit	The Department of Health, Physical Education and Sport Studies provides courses in several critical content areas. We currently serve the WSSU community through our Health Education offering. Additionally, we offer undergraduates the chance to earn their Bachelor of Science in the following areas: Motorsports Management, Physical Education, and Sport Management. Additional, Health, Physical Education and Sport Studies offers minors in coaching and sports medicine.

Minimum Experience/Education	Master's Degree or higher in Health, Physical Education, Sport Management, or related disciplines for major courses or alternate professional competencies, related professional certifications and related work experience. All education must be documented from an appropriately accredited institution or certified as equivalent to required accredited education.
Normal Work Schedule	Ability to teach weekdays and/or evenings.
Department Required Skills	Master's Degree or higher in Health, Physical Education, Sport Management, or related disciplines for major courses or alternate professional competencies, related professional certifications and related work experience All education must be documented from an appropriately accredited institution or certified as equivalent to required accredited education.

Describe the specific job duties related to this competency	The adjunct faculty will prepare all course materials and lessons for general education health courses, major courses in Physical Education, physical activity courses, or major courses in Sport Management. Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, timelines, and approved syllabus. Provide engaging and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes. Will suitably challenge, engage, serve and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect. Complete grade books, mid-term and final grade submission, learning assessments and final exam assessments on a timely basis and respond to student questions on a timely basis. Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
