Primary Purpose of Position | Under the supervision of the Director of Research and Extension Farm Operations, this position will serve the administrative needs for the University Farm, Farm Pavilion and the soon to be constructed Urban Food Complex. Associated duties in this position include, but are not limited to planning activities, database management, records administration, answering phones, ordering equipment and supplies, and other administrative duties as assigned. |

Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The University Farm is a vital component of the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, which is the oldest academic unit at North Carolina A&T State University. The primary purpose of the farm is to provide resources in the form of land, animals, water, personnel, expertise, equipment and facilities to researchers conducting studies in agriculture and serve as an outdoor laboratory for the CAES. The University farm is a 492 acre unit owned by the university with 15 permanent employees, 2-4 temporary employees and numerous student employees; annually and seasonal. |

Duties | Performs administrative support tasks such as proofreading, composing emails, correspondence, coordinating mailing, opening and distributing mail, preparing documents as needed. Searches via the internet. Creates and edits administrative documents associated with the department's primary business. Pays attention to detail and maintains accurate paper filing off status and monthly reports, incident reports for students and staff. Executes and performs necessary job tasks related to securing purchase orders. Maintains the daily shared calendar on Microsoft Office 365/MS Outlook scheduling appointments and events for the Farm Superintendent. Provides log sheets for keys being requested for rooms on the University Farm, people having access to conference rooms in the Pavilion and the electrical equipment room, and performance evaluations sent to the Deans office for signature. Supervises the inventory of items in the departments for Property Management on behalf of the Farm Superintendent |
